20 Ways to Find Your Calling Part 1

Not sure what to be when you grow up (whenever that is)? Fret no more.
We can figure this out together. Let’s get started.

1. Ignore the future, deal with the present.
The question, “What should I be when I grow up?” is wrong. Ask instead, “What is next today?” People become fat one bite at a time, and we become adults one hour at a time, so what we do today matters.

2. Shop around.
Unless you try on the outfit, you’ll never know if it fits. Do the same with vocations, avocations, hobbies and skills. You’ll need to sample every flavor to know your true favorite taste.

3. Say yes to odd opportunities.
Say yes to the things that intrigue you, instead of the ones that bore you.
Being the solution makes your work feel meaningful. Having an issue to work against also gives you a villain to play against—and makes you a hero.

5. Burn your plans.
Your life will not go according to plan. Nobody’s ever has. So don’t worry if you get off track. The track was imaginary anyway.

6. Do not follow someone else’s dream.
Your parents want you to be A. Your boss wants you to be B. Your friends want you to be C. And society is clamouring for you to be D. You can’t please everyone, but if you do what YOU think you should, at least you’ll be able to sleep at night.

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.

ASK, BELIEVE, RECEIVE, HAVE IT...

Ask
What does it mean to ask? It means to place an order or make an order. It is not complaining or murmuring as many of us would think it is. When you pray to God, remember it has to be according to His Word so that your prayer is answered (James 4:3)

Believe
Believing is necessary to receiving. Believe according to the Penguin English Dictionary means to consider something to be true, to accept a statement made by somebody to be true as the truth; and in the case it will be God. When we ask we need to believe immediately not later. Faith plays a key part in believing in God so you must trust in Him totally (Hebrew 11:1). Faith believes when you have no reason to.

Receive
Receiving is to acknowledge receipt. It simply means that you know that you have what you asked for. Receiving is spiritual and does not have time involved in it. God is a spirit and His words are spirit and life. Once we ask and believe, we will definitely receive because God is not a man that He should lie. We may not have it physically but we know that we have received from God.
I can explain receiving with an illustration of a pregnant woman. The moment a lady conceives she has received, it is not time dependent and we don’t know exactly when she conceived, but she knows that has received even though she does not have it physically.

Have it
Having your request met involves time. Just like a pregnant woman, when she delivers the baby that is when she has it physically. Having it is time dependent, just like the pregnant woman it takes 9months for her to have the baby in her arms.
It is what you do with God’s Word that determines your success or failure in life. The word of God produces results and that is a fact not fiction.
